for people who own both which do you prefer to surf the web on?

I definitely love my MBP, and would never give it up, but the iPad is just a much better browsing experience. It feels like you're browsing the internet in a magazine.

Quite frankly, as Steve said, holding the internet in your hands. Nothing compares.

[AT THE MOMENT] Flash is a big part of my internet surfing, so I voted MBP.

Yeah yeah yeah I know...

I didn't vote because I don't own either. However I do have an opinion. I surf the Internet quite a bit from my iPod when I'm not at home. From what I understand the browser on the ipad is quite similar if not the same as on the iPhone or iPod touch.

Taking that into consideration I would have chose the MacBook pro because of the ability to quickly and smoothly use many tabs at once. On the iPhone or ipad it is cumbersome switching tabs which kills a lot of the experience for me. I much prefer web surfing on a computer.

I don't like flash. Period!

Yet the reality is, I dumped my iPad because it can't display a lot of my favorite content.

The fact that it's selling so well is a testimony to Apple's brilliant marketing.

Jobs can get nearly anyone to believe anything.

and thats what makes a great advertiser ;) just depends on the requirements. its hell sexy though, at least admit that :D

It looks sharp and sleek, but not sexy.
My iPad is a fingerprint magnet. My kids, 1y & 2y, see it and will do anything to touch it. lol If I use my MBP, they don't even bother.

that just proves my point even more :p everybody wants it!

thats what you get with touchscreen - you use grubby fingers, just a bi-product i guess :(

sharp? as in it could hurt you? ;(

No No...lol Sharp as sturdy/design like no other

No grubby fingers, but they tend to sweat after an hour on the machine

I guess for casual on the coach surfing. Like reading news sites and so on the ipad is really nice.

For serious research or work the ipad is too small, too inefficient to navigate only a real Notebook can do this job. But if you use a MBP with the crappy standard Safari Browser and only the touchpad there is probably not that big of a difference.

Youtube also works well on the ipad. For streaming TV series, movies and stuff like it I prefer a bigger screen, even if Flash is no concern as the HTML5 content shows up or you use itunes and pay.

when the ipad was released it was said to be the best web surfer. well not according to this poll.

iPad (wen it comes to mobility) is just a step ahed of the pack. but if you really depend on peripherals then that is were the problems start and of course flash fail

iPad isn't the best only because of so many restraints that it has. if apple were to loosen up a bit and add more options to it then it code defiantly whip the macbook out of the equation

Edit: In the mobile device experience not power thou

This. I think the iPad is fail (giant iTouch) but Apple's corporate offices are godlike in marketing. They can pretty much sell you your own poop.

An iTouch doesn't exist. It's an iPod Touch. I voted MBP.
