Best free email to work with mail?

Yeah...

Gmail is absolutely killer for me. Multiple accounts go into it, best damn spam filter I've seen for web based free mail.

I get an error mesage after i wake my mac from sleep and it tell me this:
"imap.gmail.com on port 993 failed."
???
