yeah fugu is/was good as well.

however from what I see I'm reluctant to recommend it, as it seems that fugu's last release v.1.2 was released on 05/2005? (versiontracker info.)

has development ceased? is it still supported? has fugu branched into another project?

at least cyberduck is still developing/supported (last release 08/2008)

    :)

You can always simply type "ftp" at the terminal. All Macs come with "ftp" already installed.

I use the FireFTP plugin/tool for Firefox (that is all I use Firefox for)

    It's using the Terminal.app for FTP/SFTP.

Pretty much if you don't already know what it is, then it's not for you! ;)

IMO I can't see why people persist with using the terminal when Transmit/Forklift/Cyberduck are available. But each to their own as they say! :)

Another vote here for cyberduck. Seems to work flawlessly with my websites.

    I personally didn't like cyberduck.

I use Filezilla. My second choice is FireFTP, the plugin for Firefox.

Do take care to use SFTP instead of FTP whenever possible. Otherwise you're sending your password and files in the clear.

Cyberduck has always been reliable for me. I usually end up using Fetch most of the time because they give free licenses to students.
