Best free screencasting software?

What would be the best free screen casting software out there for macs?

I'm not totally sure what you're looking for, but QuickTime does screen recording. It doesn't do audio with it though. Audio has to be added afterward in iMovie or other video editor.

Ah damn, it literally must have ended because Cult of Mac ran the story yesterday which let me know it was free. No idea why someone has marked down both your post and mine though ... 🙄
