What kind of Macbook? There's a big difference between the unibody with the 9400M, and the earlier whitebooks and blackbooks with GMA950 or X1300.

On my unibody Macbook, I play Unreal Tournament 2004, Quake 4 and Need for Speed: Carbon. All of these run silky smooth.

Emulators are legal as long as you own a hardcopy of the game... and they are free.

No sir that's not true. It's only legal to own a backup of a ROM if the original manufacturer says so (Amiga, Amstrad) and are running either a licensed BIOS file or one extracted from your own system.

Quake 4 runs pretty good if you're using a 3rd gen macbook.

ioUrbanterror <---- Free counter strike with a lot more more actions. Cross platform, MANY ppl play this, RECOMMEND!!! you can play off-line with bots too.
Battle for Wesnoth <---- One of the best turn base strategy RECOMMEND!!!
Wolfenstein Enemy Territory <---- Free Battlefields, many pply still play this but so many sevr are full of bots.( I dont know how to add one)
