I ran the Tomb raider Shadow game benchmark. The FPS and frames amount was the same with my monitor on HDMI Mac Mini or Dp direct to eGPU. Your eGPU will have little or no benefits in everything else. Except Geekbench compute score 😬

I have a question about gaming with eGPU. I own a Mac Mini 2018 (3ghz i5, 64gb RAM) and I would like use eGPU with it. My idea is use Steam Remote Play function and stream a game from Mac Mini (under Catalina/Mojave) to my Nvidia Shield to play it on my 4k TV (I can use my BT keyboard and mouse or controller with the Nvidia Shield). I dont want Xbox or PS. Is my idea real? Can my Mac use eGPU for stream the game thru Steam? Thanks for help.

If your planning on streaming anyway why in earth would you use an eGPU? Only thing you need is a super fast fiber connection..
I need to run the game to stream it from Mac Mini. And with integrated GPU is not possible. I just need to know If is possible use Steam Link function and stream it with eGPU. I dont know how the Steam Link works and Im afraid of that it can use integrated GPU instead eGPU.

Works yes, but do not seem to utilize egpu, found a forum post from 2019 that said to have aspyr as source that concluded "Civ 6 do not use eGPU".
I'm mostly a pinball guy. I run Zaccaria in Steam at 4k with no issues. My eGPU ramps up a little, but not bad. When I run games in Windows through Fusion, though, the fans really kick in.
Even when right-clicking and forcing it to use the eGPU? And even when plugged in directly to the eGPU?
Seems odd....
