I've been upgrading my old Powerbook G4 to give to my dad. So far I've added an airport extreme card, a charger, 2-gigs of RAM, a new HD, and soon, a new battery. All were done for around $100.
Can someone tell me which brand aftermarket battery works best for the Powerbook?

Thanks!

Either way good luck I wish I would have checked more into reviews before I purchased mine ,it just has no real life to it same way with the new one I had for my ibook before I sold it.Now I see why original apple batteries in the package go for so much the difference is night and day.But depending on the needs a $20 one on ebay will most likely be just fine,I recently came across two cheap macbooks that both work and unless I MUST use one of them (jailbreaking) I just keep gravitating back to my powerbook I will never get rid of it,powerbooks have GOT to be up there with the most reliable laptops ever sold EVER period!I'm sure your dad will be happy with it.

I got one battery for my old TiBook/400 back in the first part of 2009 from a third party. It was an extended battery. It's been impossible to kill for the last four years. It even sat for 6 or 7 months on an empty charge. My son uses it now on his 1Ghz TiBook. That battery combined with the one that came with his Mac gives him battery life I can only envy. between both my 17" PowerBooks the best I can do is about an hour!

Of course, my Macs are drawing more power, but still…
