Anybody have experiences to share with software/hardware combos that work well with Macbook Pro? I was thinking of a Garmin handheld GPS but have read conflicting reports on how 'mac-friendly' they are.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 255W and it can update maps and such fine on my iMac. However, if you're thinking of using a GPS with a laptop to provide maps it's not going to work - there aren't any map applications that work with a gps on the mac.
