Here's my best suggestion. Try going to your local stores that sells hifi audio and I am quite sure that they will have display models of headphones that you can try out and listen to. Try several brands and models out and get the ones that sounds best. Everyone will have different opinions on headphones thats because every single ear is not made the same. What sounds best to 100 million people might not sound best to you. Just because the majority of people love it, does not mean you will too.

So do try out several models and get the one you like best for the price you can afford.

Did you ask them to test?

I asked at Best Buy but they told me all they had was what they had in display. The guy who was helping me seemed to not care or just didn't know what the hell he has talking about. The Apple store was the most helpful where they let me try out different headphones using my own iPhone. They were helpful and told me that at the end of the day both the Bose and Beats were good choices, along with the Senneiheiser but I felt the other ones were better. I think I'm gonna go back Monday to a different store then to the Apple store to make my final decision. Thank you all for your input.

I would love to try different headphones but I can't find any place that will have a big variety to try on. I tried the Sennheiser HD 238 at the Apple store and the Beats and Bose both clearly beat them. I have gone to Best Buy, Frys and Apple store. The Apple store had the most to try on which was 5 lol. Other stores have like 2 or none. If you can recommend another store that would be great. I just don't want to buy headphones I can't try on or test. Thanks for the input.
Sorry to revive a somewhat older thread, but I just wanted to state that Guitar Center usually carries a rather large collection of headphones. It's the place to go to, for trying different headphone models.

Can you even purchase SRH840s anywhere?
Now you can.
