I have some standard light switches that I want to switch to HomeKit. Not electrically or mechanically gifted, I need a rock solid switch (both hardware and homekit) that fits into my existing switch boxes and ideally uses the same wall plates. Most of the switches will be one way. There is also a 3 way non-homekit switch which is currently failing. I'll be having an electrician out to install an outdoor camera and floodlight, so will have him figure out what is wrong with the 3 way and make it homekit compatible. Don't know how many of the 3 switches I need to replace.

Don't want to install a special hub, just use my existing homepods. Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you have three wires in the box? thats key to be able to sue a switch. you need that third leg. if your home is older you may not have the wiring for it.

Checked one of the single switches. 2 wires. So I'm out of luck - no way to do it?

Thanks. Lutron site lists local electricians. Will see if I can get one to replace all of my switches and one wall outlet.

I wish we could use switches. but having hue they went from smartthings to HomeKit with no added expense. Would have had to replace all the switches when we changed over. but we are odd we don't use switches anymore lights are on when home and off when we leave.

Lutron Dimmers do not require a neutral but they do require a separate Hub. Sometimes a hub is better though. Lutron has a proprietary connection between devices (like Zigbee but a different frequency) and it’s fast as sh*t lol. Plus it doesn’t clog up the WiFi.
