Iphone 3g, jailbroken, 3.1.2,

I want to get rid of my Text msg...I wud still have internet on my iphone.....but I need an IM app....
that will alert me when I recieve a msg, even when the phone is in stand-by

Also, this app, if it requires to turn on NOTIFICATIONS, must not eat away my battery life 🙁

plzzzzzzzz advise .... thanks in advance 🙂

Also an avid Beejive users... Has been updated for 4.0 (fast app switches and high res) Push notifications have always worked great.

I used im+ for a long time due to the browser function. After trying beejive I have to say it blows im+ out of the water!

I agree with everyone else. Unfortunately it is the most expensive, but it is definitely worth it if you use IM a lot on your phone. I've tried many others and then finally bit the bullet and purchased Beejive and have never had the urge to try another IM client.

I used to use Beejive on both my iPad and iPhone but recently switched to IM+. I like it a little better, but honestly it's your preference. I also used Trillian and preferred it to Beejive as well, only because it showed me when someone else was typing.

Does Beejive indicate whether the message has been received and/or read once sent? I used to have Blackberry, and Blackberry Messenger is one thing I miss with iPhone. Been trying to find a good replacement for BBM on iPhone.

No I don't think it does. I also noticed it doesn't tell you when the other person is typing either.

Beejive is my primary (bought the day it was released) and I keep Trillian installed as a backup. Needless to say, i've never needed to use Trillian. Beejive is that reliable and stable.
