Best Internet Eraser for Mac?

Could someone recommend a very good eraser for Macs that not only erases your tracks, but will overwrite deleted files so that they cannot be recovered? I was told that there are several with settings that even bypass the Department of Defenses standards for destroying information (Gutzman?). Thanks for your help.

If you turn on Private Browsing from the Safari menu, no files are written in the first place
