My 6S came with iOS 9.1 preloaded. So, in anticipation of a possible 9.3/9.2.1 jailbreak, now I'm wondering if I should stay on 9.1 to have the most possible working jailbreak apps or upgrade to 9.2.1? Aren't more apps still likely to be compatible with 9.1 for quite awhile? Opinions please?

If I were stock I'd go to 9.2.1. The chances that a coming JB will work on 9.3 and below are pretty good.

But that is just my opinion.

I agree with eyoungren. I don't feel that enough has changed within the 9xxx builds that you'd have an incompatibility or performance issue with cydia apps.

You can always bounce up, just not back. I'd stay with 9.1 as I think we may well see a jailbreak with 9.1/9.2 before seeing anything regarding a jailbreak for 9.2.1/9.3

Well, thanks for your inputs. My last iOS upgrade was from 8.x to 9.0.2 and I had to wait forever for many apps to be updated! Several were still not updated after months and months of waiting and then I just gave up and bought my 6s with 9.1.

I decided I'm sticking with 9.1 until final 9.3 is released and perhaps a jailbreak. I'll update to 9.2.1 while the signing window is still open, depending on initial app compatibility reports. It's gonna be a tight squeeze for me, if a 9.2.1/9.3 jailbreak were to be released soon after final 9.3 is released. Ideally, most apps will still work on a 9.2.1 jailbreak. I'd rather not end up stuck on 9.1 when the 9.2.1 and 9.3 signing windows close. Now, if a 9.2.1/9.3 jailbreak is not released soon after 9.3 is, then skipping 9.2.1 and upgrading to 9.3 is a gimee. It just wouldn't matter.

If there was a jailbreak for 9.2 that didn't work on 9.2.1, it would be out already. No dev team in their right mind is actively working on a jailbreak that isn't going to work on 9.2.1+ right now. I don't see a point in staying on 9.1.

Well, I didn't think of the likelyhood that a iOS 9.2.1/9.3 jailbreak might take a couple weeks after 9.3 is released. The 9.2.1 signing window would be closed by then. Apple will just do the same thing again when a 9.3 jailbreak is released and issue a quick iOS 9.3.1 to patch the vulnerabilities. I had just thought that the jailbreakers might have such difficulty with 9.3 that they might issue a 9.2.1 jailbreak instead. Well, they obviously didn't and are waiting for 9.3 to be released. So, if I want maximal Cydia app compatibility, I'd just have to sit on iOS 9.1 indefinitely. On the other hand, if I'm willing to wait for Cydia apps to be upgraded (and some never are), then I should just upgrade to iOS 9.3. Hm... it's a choice. Either 9.1 indefinitely, or upgrade to 9.3 ASAP? Do I want to get stuck on iOS 9.1? Not really. Eh, I'll just skip 9.2.1 and wait till 9.3 comes out.
