Just want to be able to open .doc files on mine, and do some simple editing...... is pages the best one, or are there better ones?

If your requirements are to open .doc files and do simple editing, you might want to try DocsToGo

Yay, that looks good..... I was borking at the prospect of paying a £10 for pages and keynotes each without being aware if they'd actually open their microsoft counterpart files..... but for £10 which will do powerpoint, docs and excel that would be brill!

    Thanks :)

I looked at them, and Pages is my favorite. It's been great for me so far.

I've been using Pages for about a week and basic formated .docs are going back and forth like a charm. Really liking it.
