Their's nothing new and exciting anymore regards to apps as almost all things are covered by some kind of app.

What would be great is an app scale ruler which I can us on PDF building plans.

For those of you into modern board gaming Pandemic is a nice implementation indeed! Good polish, undo, can look at discards, and there's a tutorial on the interface and the app itself. If you'd like more content, they've implemented 2 portions of the On The Brink expansion for $2 each:
1) extra roles and events
2) Virulent Strain

For those of you NOT into modern board gaming, they also have a good tutorial on how to play the game.
If you've heard of board games like Splendor, Settlers Of Catan, Ticket To Ride, Stone Age, Dominion, Race For The Galaxy, Love Letter.... then you've been exposed to them before!

Out of curiosity, has anyone seen any apps round up the price to the whole dollar? The $x.99 is such a cliche it's quite comical to me.

Alto's Adventure has been free on the Amazon Underground App Store for weeks now. Out There: Omega Edition is free as well it appears. If Touch Arcade gave it 5/5, I guess I can give it a shot on my Android phone.

Broken Age got 4.5 stars and it's a universal app with Apple TV support, is it that good?

I think the game is amazing for $1. Instant buy. Well, unless you hate adventure games for some reason, I guess? Haven't played on TV though so can't comment on that aspect.

It's not really "cliche", it's just how pricing goes in various places (like US).

Sure, but that doesn't change it being what it is (as is the case with many things).
I think it's just inertia. Or, because everyone else does, I might as well too. I did sell something in the App Store a few years back for $0.99, but I think if I was to do it again I would just round up. The more I think about it, it seems kind of insulting to the customer's intelligence. Like it's meant to trick them into thinking it's less than a dollar, when it's essentially the same. Ok enough rambling for now.

Again, in various countries/regions throughout the world (like US) that is the norm for pricing essentially for everything/anything that has been in place for a long time.

Clearly "Best Apps" is subjective.

Are you serious? Are you saying that not everyone likes or dislikes the same things? I wasn't aware of this. Thanks for the enlightenment

Setting aside the snarkiness, that's the reason the phrase "Best Apps" should NOT be used.

As the Romans used to say:

De gustibus non est disputandum!

Anyone ever try the Duet Display app? Can't believe I've never seen it before.

I just set it up for my iPad Air and new 2016 MBP 13". As usual, I'm the last to know. This is an awesome app. Seems to work flawlessly. If you have an iPad, it's a no-brainer.
