Hey all,

I'm having a hard time finding the best charging dock for my iPhone 13 Pro, Watch Series 7, and AirPods. I currently have a dock made by Moderno, but since getting my Series 7 watch it will BARELY charge it. It charged my Series 4 fine, so I'm not sure what has changed. Although, I have gone through three of these docks, because the watch charger stopped working completely on the first two (this was when I still had a Series 4).

Anyway, the main problem I am running into is finding the best ones out there. I am almost settled on just buying Belkins MagSafe 3-in-1 charger. But I am concerned that it will not charge my Series 7 very quickly. Does anyone have any experience? I will put a link to the Moderno one I have, and the Belkin one for no confusion.

Perfectly happy to entertain another option that anyone may know of, as long as it is quality. And I prefer the iPhone to be using MagSafe.

Here is the Moderno one I have. You can see that it is the same exact design that many companies use, so I am sure this is just manufactured by one company and has different brands plastered on it.

Belkin's: Only concern here is how quickly it will charge my Series 7.

Thanks in advance for any input!

The S7 watch uses fast charging, and Apple updated their own charger to support this. The watch should still work with Apple's original charger, but 3rd party "slow charging" ones can be finicky. Also, make sure your Apple Watch is up-to-date as there have been some bugs with charging.

"Best" is subjective, but I like the ones from Elago. You provide your own official Apple MagSafe chargers/cables. One potential downside is that you have multiple cables to plug in, but I bought an Anker charger with multiple ports to take care of that.

I personally have the MS5 Duo (I don't have AirPods). It definitely paid off when I could just pop out my old Apple Watch charger and replace it with the new fast charging one, rather than having to buy a whole new integrated unit if I were to have something else.

Otherwise, if you do get an integrated one like the Belkin, just make sure it's a newer model and specifically calls out fast charging to support the S7.

How about the new Belkin with Watch Fast Charging?

The thing I don't like about these style of "dock" is it makes your iPhone either useless, or you'd be picking it up and setting in down all the time. That's the reason I want a MagSafe one, because they are more or less like the one I already have (linked above).

Thanks for the suggestion!

I hadn't heard or Elate before, and I do like some of their options. However, for me the downside would definitely be all the extra cables, as you pointed out. Getting ready to travel around the US in a 5th wheel trailer, so having minimalist solutions definitely is more what I am looking for.

I had heard that there were some problems with some 3rd party wireless chargers for the Series 7. It is up to date. But it wasn't out of the box, and now I am not 100% if I tried it before or after that update. I will have to test it again when my battery gets low and see if it behaves different. It was VERY hot and was charging very slowly, when I did try it.

Pitaka MagEZ Slider,
unsure about fast charging for Apple Watch S7 as I only have the S6 currently.

The watch charger is a USB-C adapter with a magnetic cover for the USB-C port. Stand sticks to the desk (if you peal off the protector) and swivels 360 degrees where you need it. Does charge MagSafe at 15W officially.

Get the belkin 3 in 1 or get a Make your own frame option. The latter will ensure S7 fast charging and the dock type mount system. The belkin may cause hassles with the 7

I think I will have to go with the "make your own frame" option. It seems to be the best option for fast charging.

I ended up going with one of these from Elago. It took a little while to get here, apparently they are moving to a new building. It arrived today, and I like it! I can't say that I love the fact that I had to buy my own charging devices, but it was easy to put together and seems pretty solid. Plus, I know the chargers will work correctly.

Here is a pic of mine. It is supposed to be black, but their black is really a very dark gray/charcoal.

Nice! Yeah, that does look like it could be the dark grey model. FWIW, I did have the black MS2 before I decided I wanted the MS5 Duo instead, and that was black. Seems like they'd all be the same color.
