OK, i wrote this post out about three times, and after some overly complicated questions about video resolutions and aspect ratios ( i was confusing myself) i decided to simplify my question: i normally convert my totally legitimate videos of various resolutions using the quicktime export function (to iphone .m4v file) Now thats fine until i want the nicest crispest image to fill the screen. Whats the best way / program to use so that i can either: a) scale and crop my videos optimally during export to exactly 480 x 320? b) just manually control the scaled resolution of the video (in its original aspect ratio) to whatever res i bloody well feel like? An answer to a) would be preferred, since some files i want to get rid of black bars that have been encoded into the file. any help is much appreciated!
