Hello,

How is everyone?

I do program a lot, and have been programming even more as the days pass by.
Although, I currently face myself using an Ankler keyboard which is really sh*tty.

I finally decided to spend money on a good keyboard but I really can't seem to find a good pick.

I would like your experts' opinion on a good keyboard fr programming and if possible, compatible with Mac.

Thank you very much

I'm a huge fan of mechanical keyboards. There are various different types of key switches, so it helps to be able to try the different kinds to see which you prefer (eg blue, brown, etc). If you're a fast touch typist, there's a good chance that you'll never look back once you try one.

Das makes a Mac version but I'm using a PC version and just mapped the keys.

I do type fast...

I've heard some bad a good reviews of Das...
Are both versions the same? I just want something that is compatible with Mac. Did it took you long to map the keys?

So you recommend the Das?

i bought unicomp mac keyboard. In less than 18 months, a number of keys went wrong randomly. After two replacements, i decide to give up and planning to buy Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional on my next trip to Japan.

I'm using the Das Keyboard Model S for Mac. The ANSI (US) version as it is better for programming with easier access to most symbols found in programming language.

HHKB as mentioned seems to be really popular. Torre switches are the best. I am not as big a fan of the layout on the HHKB. I prefer the similar sized layout of the Leopold fc660C.

Also popular is the Realforce 87U 55g if your like the TKL layout. The full-size Realforce boards a great too. I prefer the uniform weighted keys in the Realforce boards.

I have a Das with Brown switches and a cheap Rosewill with Red switches (both PC keyboards, prior to my switching to Mac). The Das is solid as a rock and has nicer fit and finish, but the Rosewill was very cheap on a Slickdeal. I prefer the Red switches, I'm faster typing on them. I don't game, it's just the feel of the switches that I prefer. I don't care much about volume keys and other extras, so I'd focus first on the type of key switches as they feel quite different. I don't mind the key mapping either, it's just the modifier keys at the bottom and I never look at the keys anyway (and if you're a fast touch typist you don't either).
