My daughter is needing a laptop for a new job. She'll be working from home and the work is basic; copy and pasting and sending out a LOT of emails is the main thing she'll do from her laptop, along with some printing and needing to have good access to the internet (basic).

We haven't had laptops in years, but the company she works for uses Mac and will provide her with a laptop. They have told her to pick one out.

The person she works for is a friend, so she's trying to keep it as budget-friendly as possible, while still getting what she needs.

What laptop? I just don't know the main differences in them anymore because I've never owned one and my kids haven't had them since home schooling with iBooks (gosh I loved those).

Appreciate any advice...

A MB Air can handle those basics fine. I do that all week with my 2013. With the new ones I’d move to the base MBP if they will pay for it

Seconded MBA. She doesn't need a quad core and is budget conscious, so the MBA is the middle of the road of the three (12" MB, 13" MBA, 13" nTB MBPro).
