So I've been on a spending spree preparing for the arrival of my new 17" MBP and have yet to buy a laptop stand. I've got the budget to buy pretty much anything so what do you guys recommend???:D

I'm very happy with the M-stand. Perfect visual match, and it also matches nicely with the styling of the 24" display's support.
It's well designed to avoid any marking of the underneath of the MBP and it's nice and solid. I recommend it highly.

I use the Griffin iCurve Elevator thingy... I am very happy with it and think that it is cheaper than the mstand. Like the mstand it fits perfectly...

I'll go with the the Griffin model. It is durable. I've been using it on my late 2007 MacBook Pro and it still doing its job today. Never dropped my MacBook because of it. It also doesn't cost that much. Only 39.99 if I'm not mistaken.

I also have a griffin elevator. Works perfectly and it was cheaper than the rain stand

Nice, looks like I have found my new laptop stand, the usb hub will come in handy when I'm using my macbook as a desktop. Thanks for that.

The mstand is definitely the way to go. I picked one up while at Macworld this year for my Unibody MBP because my Griffin Elevator wasn't sturdy enough for my taste.

enjoy and it really works well with the new unibody cause the superdrive is on the side. the old MBP's superdrive was on the front and the holder got in the way.

I only have a 13" MacBook, but I've been using the Griffin Elevator Stand (link) which sells for about $40 and I have nothing but good things to say about it. It isn't all that expensive, and disassembles real easily if you wanted to bring it somewhere.
