best lens for the money

    what would be the best lens for a canon rebel xt for around $250?

    ^^^I almost fainted when you posted that, as I have never heard of it before but would love one! :eek:

    But no, it's a 17-70 mm f/2.8-4.5. :eek:

    How about the Sigma 24-70 mm f/2.8 EX DG macro lens? Like the 17-70 mm, it's also more than $250, but it's around the same price as the 17-70 mm and is a high quality lens.

    Otherwise, I recommend the Canon 50 mm f/1.8 or f/1.4, as they're well within budget. :)

    If you don't already have the 50mm f/1.8, then you need that. Save the rest of the money for a better lens later (when you've got about $600).
