Hi Guys.

Which Backup application would be best for these following uses:

- Full bootable backup
- Adjustable frequency of automatic backups
- Only keeps one version of files, which are fully bootable.

Thank you :)

"Full bootable backup" means to create a backup for your Mac OS X? You want to restore your OS X in the future with the backup?

I know there is a option in the CCC preferences which is named "Create an archive of Apple's Recovery HD Volume", you'd better to check this option before you do the volume backup.

Hope this is help for you.

Fully bootable means Carbon Copy Cloner as mentioned, its a great app, but there are other great apps as well. TimeMachine for its simplicity and the fact that tis baked into the OS. It does not create a bootable destination but its great nonetheless :)

Backup apps

I have had CCC and Super Duper. Both are great apps, but I ended staying with Super Duper. You should take a look at it.

If you want to make a bootable clone, I recommend Carbon Copy Cloner. Unlike SuperDuper, it also clones the OS X Recovery partition.

I've used both CCC and SuperDuper over the past decade or longer.

Both do the 'cloning' job well. But, when all said and done I prefer SuperDuper for ease of use.

It's just a matter of personal preference.
