Best Mac program that can convert HD-1080p .mkv's to iPhone?

Hi,

I have a ton of 1080p HD .mkv movie files on my macbook pro. Each of these files ranges from like 6-13GB in size. I need a program that will take each of these files and convert them into a format that the iPhone can use. Also I would like to make sure that these 6-13GB files are reduced in size so that one movie doesn't completely own my phone.

I don't care if its paid or free.

I think HandBrake should do the job.

I would rather recommend Visual Hub, except that it can only be found via questionable sources since it has been discontinued.

If Handbrake doesn't work try FFMPEGX.

MacVideoConverter looks to be pretty dodgy IMO, and it isn't cheap.
