Best monitor for a 2017 Macbook?

Looks like I'll be inheriting my wifes 2017 Macbook seeing as she's pinching my high spec desktop pc with 2 x Dell 25" displays.

I believe I can only run one monitor from the Macbook so what's the best option to go for?

I'm interested in this too. I have one LG UltraFine 4K at work, which I really like but they seem to be hard to find now.

I've just seen the HP Envy 27 4K online as well as an LG model but I've seen reports of lagging on a 4K so not sure whether to just go with a 24 or 25 inch if I can find a USB C one.

The Dells I have on my PC U2518d's which are 2560x1440 but the mrs is pinching those, but quite like the resolution.

If you run a 4K monitor, you can use USB 3 peripherals at USB 3 speed at the same time.
