I'll get my ipad 3 tomorrow and try the lite version. The killer feature for me is local samba streaming from NAS (including subtitles). I don't know if your player has it but I believe it is very important.

I tried the lite version.

Played the same file on GoodPlayer and RushPlayer. (4gig mkv).

GoodPlayer played it very smooth. RushPlayer played it well, but there were very brief stutters now and then.

are you using software decoding?
we have tested dozens of videos against goodplayer, all faster obviously.

I think it was one of GoodPlayer's devs that said something to the effect that iOS was limiting taking advantage of the new iPad's hardware improvements. As such, it wasn't able to provide any performance increase over the iPad 2.

May I ask what your take on that is, since presumably there's a way around that? I too am vastly disappointed so far with the current video players when it comes to 1080p mkv. If you've got any promo codes left, I'd love to test it out and see for myself.

Thanks for your time.

I have tested out this app and to be honest, it works quite well for me and I have no complaints. I am no expert on videos on mobile devices but I did download some straight from rar avi files and they played with no lag and no issues.

To me this was great because it solved the problem of me not having to convert them.

I have played with the basic features of the app and it is something I would recommend to anyone who wanted a clean interface, streamlined video application.

The developer cares about it obviously, and that is something that makes me love it even more. Something that is a labor of love will always be more worth using for me.

Don't be disappointed in the players, be disappointed in Apple. It is them who are limiting what software can do on their iOS platform and hardware. They, of course, would rather have you buy those 1080p movies from iTunes, which are played much better. No surprise since they skewed the ecosystem that way.

Would like the promo code too! I just bought goodplayer and wouldn't mind comparing and reviewing both.

Well I would have loved to try the lite versions but
a) it said its only available in the US
b) changed market and its still not available..

well would have liked to compare some videos (non HD mkvs) to goodplayer, cause I am having problems with them..
Where is the lite version? Would love to give some feedback, then purchase if it works :)

i just hope i got more promo codes to share with you guys ;P

i can assure you rushplayer is much faster than goodplayer

I dont need a promo Code, but why isnt the lite Version available :( i am more than happy to pay for a product if it works...

Lite version was previously available. The developer should comment why it is no longer in the App Store.

yeah can't find the lite version.

also does this support anime mkv files with styled subtitles? I'm having big troubles with them on AVplayerHD... would pay if u had support for them 100% and the anime community would probably invest too.

e.g. one piece from yibis episode 400 or whatever.

Second that!

Same here, I do not see the lite version.

BTW, in the app store for the paid version of RushPlayer, you have some text duplicated on the info page.

You have the complete paragraph starting with "Thereafter, you can watch..." twice. :)

Do not update... To 1.4.4

TV Streaming was removed... I do not know if this was intentional to remove it... Also Radio channels were too.

Settings can now be adjusted, there are backgrounds you can select as well.

Lite version is available again, thinking of getting it to see if streaming is in it...

Lite version does not have streaming built in either.

Deleted RP off my iPad, Synched my wife's iPad which had the old version to laptop, Synched old version back to mine and I have TV back. Would like to know if TV is coming back in a future update. Thanks..
