Best MSN Messenger for iPhone

What's the best MSN messenger for iPhone with low data usage? Is Skype pretty efficient if you only use the IM function (so no calls or video)

I used to use BeeJive. Was great.

But given up all the other IM applications for just Google Hangouts. So use it's dedicated app.

Few people don't have a gmail account, even a junk one. It seems like its become nearly ubiquitous. But that just may be where I am. *shrug*.
