Your best bet is to get the T-Amp, and then just keep it in storage until you get some matching speakers. =]
 
When we bought our iMacs a few months ago, I got a pair of M-Audio AV-40's and she got a pair of HK Sound Sticks II. The M-Audio's were $10 less and sound better. The HK's have that cool iMac look to them. But I'd definitely buy the M-Audio's again. Big sound from a little monitor speaker.

Do you advice to put the A5's on speaker stands, is there any sound difference if you put them on your desk? If, which would you recommend?

Can you change the treble and bass volume seperatly?

Don't buy computer speakers if you want it for music. Buy yourself an amp and some good quality stereo speakers and plug the iMac in via the AUX port on the amp. That is the way to go if you ask me.
