I'm interested in how navigation apps on the iPhone like TomTom and Navigon (two for example) plan routes when considering the mode of transportation is either a bicycle or on foot.

Ideally, a bike route should utilize bike lanes and take into account speed limits while pedestrian routes can utilize walkways and ignore one way streets (among many other factors).

Is there a navigation app that does this best if at all?
