I watched Al Jazeera English during the Arab Spring last year and was very impressed with their coverage. While American cable news networks were covering what each of the Kardashians last said on Twitter and Lindsay Lohan's latest arrest, Al Jazeera had reporters on the ground in Egypt and Libya providing updates around the clock. I started watching it more often online and have found it to be quite good.

Unfortunately it's only available online and I prefer to watch TV on my TV. I don't see any cable companies ever carrying it because many Americans are ignorant and would throw a fit if cable companies added AJE because they would think it's some Al Qaeda run propaganda channel.

FYI, this is where PLEX and the ATV are quite useful. I have mine configured to show Euronews, Al Jazeera English, SVT Play (Swedish) and Tagesschau (German) streams on the TV. Sure, it's not 1080ipxyz/2K or whatever resolution, but it's nice to be able to flip through them whenever I want. You may want to look into it.

For me I mostly get my news online rather than on TV. r/worldnews on Reddit always has articles from all different sources.
