what is your favorite notebook size for lounging around the house away from a desk? which would you choose to surf the web away from your office?

Well, the 13" will be the most portable. I have a 13", and no external monitor to go with it, and I think it's very easy to read. And if it's small, but you want portability, you can always get an external monitor.

I lounge around the house with a 17. I LOVE 15's too though. I find 13's are better for the coffee shop. If I am at home size isn't really a problem.

no external monitor can be used because no desk nearby.

For me the 13" is the best size, a good compromise between portability and usability. I've used netbooks and larger ( 14", 15" and 17") laptops in the past. The 13" screen is big enough to display a website and the keyboard is full size for easy typing. It's weight is low enough for me to bring it with me when I head out on the town. I checked out the mbp 15 before I decided on the 13, but the 15 just adds extra bulk with a marginally higher screen resolution - it wasn't worth it to me.

I've been using 10" netbooks for almost a year, will never do it again. Their screens are way to small for a comfortable reading and their cramped keyboards just didn't hack it...

the 13 has a huge lead in the poll. for me its the 17 or 13. the 17 eliminates the need for an external display.
