CES 2025 is wrapping up today, and attendees are preparing to head home after a long week of exploring the latest tech products. MacRumors Dan Barbera spent the last few days checking out what's new, and we're wrapping up the week with our Best of CES 2025 list.

LG showed off a new UltraFine 6K display with Thunderbolt 5 support, and it's a serious Pro Display XDR competitor. The 32-inch display has a sleek stand with adjustable height, and almost no bezels at all. Launch date and price aren't available just yet. Samsung also had the Smart Monitor M9, a 4K OLED display with an AI Picture Optimizer feature that makes adjustments based on what's on the screen.

TP-Link's Tapo brand had some interesting security cameras and locks, including one that's able to verify your identity by reading the veins in your palm before unlocking the door. The cameras aren't HomeKit or Matter-enabled, but Tapo has detailed notifications that give you insight into what's going on rather than just a standard motion detected alert.

As for Apple-related accessories, Satechi's 3-in-1 magnetic travel chargers in bright colors were a win and SanDisk showed off a MagSafe SSD with USB-C that's perfect for transferring content from your iPhone or recording video directly to the external drive.

OhSnap demoed a MagSafe wallet that has a super strong grip and can hold up to eight cards, and for HomeKit users, Flic Duo had a Matter-compatible button that supports gesture control for controlling your devices.

Other highlights included Honda and Sony's Afeela electric vehicle, the cord-free Displace TV, and a spoon that zaps your tongue to make you taste salt so you can cut down on sodium.

For all of the news from CES 2025, make sure to check out our CES 2025 hub.

Based on a limited feature and price comparison with the 6K Dell monitor, Martinicat's wildcat guess is the 6K LG will list for $3500 and sell out the 1st two manufacturing runs right away 🍸🍸😸. BTW, did they really name a car 'Afeela'?

The top marketing example from LG : show one creepy unrealistic picture of the "CES awarded" monitor, do not show the real product during all the CES, and give zero information in the internet or on their website (there is 0 videos of it on the youtube, or am I missing something?).

Is there a spec sheet yet for the 6K LG? If it's more than 60hz and less than $2k, it will be the new go-to standard for creative pro monitors
I’d personally like a 5K or 6K monitor with middling specs and a low price. I like big, high-PPI monitors, but for office work and casual use, I don’t really care about HDR and contrast ratios and refresh rates.

Seemingly no one is talking about it but ASUS showed its 32inch 6K 60Hz PA32QCV monitor, probably with the same LG's panel. No pricing is given for the moment but my guess it should be below 2K USD (as 5k version is only 800 USD).
UPD: Price (as seen in LTT video) will be very delicious: 1199 USD.

Oh my 😡... a team of dedicated creative people put all their energy into designing and grading the picture of a movie or game... and some AI wrecks it. Why do monitor manufacturers keep on doing this?! Hey Samsung, the analogue (never the same color) video era is over for almost two decades now... there's no reason to "adjust" the picture anymore. Why not just make a monitor that is perfectly calibrated for a change???

As always, it was nice to see all the new TV technologies and large screen TVs from different manufactures. Some new MagSafe accessories were nice too.

I’m guessing you also cannot lie? 😉

The 5-6K display space is definitely getting more interesting. I hope we get more entries in the ”just the best display, no extra bells and whistles” category.

Have a look at the ASUS 27 inch 5K model they just released. Not huge, but it's got "Retina" level PPI. And it's only $800.

Transitioning from iMac 27 5k to Mac Studio M2, the monitor was a big issue for me. Of course I wanted the studio 5k monitor, but with the rest of my system upgrades it was too much at the time. I considered the older LG 5k and hacking my iMac (which had other issues) to run it as a monitor. In the end I went cheap for a 32" 4k that had my needed specs in color space and brightness. I knew in advance the issues with a non-retina size/resolution combo, and have optimized setup and habits to deal with it reasonably well at native resolution. Max fonts and element size in OS and supported app settings, screen zoom with accessibility keyboard commands. Still.. no camera, no mic means I use laptop for meetings. I'd move to 2x 27" 5k or a 6k 32" in a heartbeat -
but not for $3k+

Yes there is. Check out this Short Circuit video.

Time in video is 1:24.

Also right at the beginning they show off LG’s $8,000 32-inch 8K self-calibrating display.

Based on it being IPS Black and the same native resolution as the Dell U3224KB, the UltraFine 32U990A almost certainly uses the same panel, which is 60Hz. The same also goes for the ASUS PA32QCV.
