Best office suite for iMac G3 (OSX 10.3)

Hi guys,
I was wandering if there are any good office suites for my iMac G3 (333mhz) running Mac OSX 10.3. It runs on 96mb's of ram (I know it's not that much) but I hope there will be some to run on my old ppc!

Because that system is so slow, I'd suggest Microsoft Office X or 2004.

Apple Works 6 might be an option.

There is also OpenOffice.

Version 2.1.0 or older for Panther:

Also search for updating ram and/or 3rd party methods to increase. A photo tutorial will make the job much easier.

Am not sure 96mb is going to let you run ANY office suite. You may be limited to stand alone versions like Word 6 / Excel 5 etc.

Yeah I think I'll need to upgrade the RAM anyway 😉 But still thanks! Open Office 2.1 works sort of. Sometimes a bit lagging but think I'll come over it!

Open Office woke for me, with zero problems, opens anything MS Office😎

Hahaha yeah that would be great. But I bought this iMac for €5,- about $7,-

So if you can find a 2011 iMac for that price I would love to hear form you! 😉 And I also use my 2008 MacBook aluminum for the harder works!

I was running an iMac G3 600 Mhz until recently. It was a real workhorse for me over the years. I installed extra memory (it had either approximately 750 MB or 1GB in total; I forget now) and I was running AppleWorks and Office 2004 on it with Panther (OSX 10.3.9).

Of the two office suites I'd recommend AppleWorks. I don't think it's as memory-hungry as Office and I found Word to be less than satisfactory in terms of reliability and user-friendliness. I preferred the simplicity and 'lower impact' of AppleWorks and its word processing module.

With your older model of iMac I think AppleWorks is your best solution. That and some extra memory. Panther is probably the optimum Operating System solution for your machine. You'll be able to pick up inexpensive memory modules for your iMac via eBay.
