There's a seller on eBay that's selling official leather Apple cases from China for like $5 plus free shipping. Everything looks legit and the feedback is good, so I bought one. I'll follow up when it arrives.
I bought one of those. I'm not sure it is the same seller but they claimed it was real. However, although it came in a genuine Apple case box (clearly a used box) it was a fake case. PU (siliconed) leather. Yuck.

The tracking details say Shenzhen China, and that's the city Foxconn is in. Hopefully it's straight from the factory. The feedback is very good though, so hopefully it's legit.
Haha, good point. Anyway, the feedback is good and it should be delivered soon. We'll see how authentic it is. If it isn't an official Apple case, I'll still get a nice cheap case with great reviews.
I really hope you're kidding. You can't seriously think you're buying a genuine apple product for 90% off shipped from an unauthorized dealer in China.
You've heard the saying " if it seems too good to be true.." Right? No way in hello that's a legit case. Not telling you not to like it, but if you don't or if it falls apart after a month, don't post about how bad the apple case is since it's not actually an apple case.
I received it and it's definitely not an official Apple case, but you couldn't tell the difference just by looking at it. I think it's great for under $8

The "fake" $5 China apple cases could easily be official apple products if they really wanted to since all Apple products come from there. The only thing holding me back from buying the cheaper apples is the shipping time. Sometimes up to a month to ship.
Have you ever watched a news show about the conditions of the factories Apple makes their products? Item's aren't just falling of the backs of trucks or walking out the back doors. If you seriously think you're getting cases that are off the Apple assembly line, you're delusional.
Everything we have and wear comes from the same China factories and conditions you speak of. I could care less what factory an apple product is made. As long as I'm happy with it and satisfied that's all I'm worried about.
Sentence one is true. Sentence two I assume you meant "couldn't care less" which is the proper english sentence. If you're happy with it great. You bought a counterfeit product. Not only is that illegal to even have in many countries, but completely undermines the quality end to end ecosystem Apple has created. It's like buying a $100k Porsche, and going to Walmart and getting a $4.99 set of floor mats for it.

But at the end it's my money and I choose to spend it the way I want to. If I choose to buy a veyron and buy a $.99 "fake" phone case I shall. If I buy a bucket and buy a $50,000 sound system with an apple retailer phone case I shall. No matter how much you try to argue the fact that purchasing illegal counterfeit Apple products will undermine the ecosystem Apple has created doesn't mean a thing to me. Apple will still get your money and mine at the end of the day. I have 6 cases I've purchased at Apple Store and plenty more "fake" cases from eBay. Walk to any Apple retailer and ask any Apple "genius" and see if they care if you, me or anybody else has purchased $.99 cases from eBay. You'd be surprised with their answer

Simply stating that it was funny in your earlier post that you thought maybe someone was taking the cases from the Apple line and selling them on the side.
Either way, do as you please, this has become an utterly pointless post. Nobody in their right mind can defend a knock off as the quality or protection the original offers. But hey, if saving $30 is important you... buy those Chinese knock offs. It's not like a case is protecting a $900 phone or anything, lol

You're missing the entire point here by the way. I have tons of cheapie cases. Buying a fake Chanel bag isn't the same as going to Walmart and buying a generic brand. When you buy a knock-off Apple designed case (let me guess, your knockoff even says "Made in China, Designed in California" on the inside?), it's not the same as just buying a generic $0.99 case. If you don't see the difference I'm sorry.
