I'm interested in learning Italian and wondered if anyone has used any of the apps available.

There seem to be quite a few, all offering a slightly different angle on basically the same thing.

I would need it to be offline though, I have an iPod Touch and not an iPhone and would primarily use it when travelling so not likely to remain in any free WiFi zone for long.

Any suggestions for a good one?
Also if you've used an app for another language that was good then mention that too. Most of the companies making language apps seem to cover a quite a few different languages.

    Thanks!

I have used a number of language apps and my favorite is a free talking phrase book by iDev entertainment for Lastminute.com.
I have tried the French, German and Italian phrase books and all are very good, they provide a lot of phrases in every category a tourist would need. The speech is also very clear and slow so you can pick up the phrases quickly.

    Thanks to both of you.

I checked out the lastminute.com one and it's possibly useful but seriously basic. Could be handy on holiday but you're never going to learn the language from it.

I've seen the Byki one, it's one of the ones that looked half decent though.
