Best open-source apps for the Mac?

    What's your list of top open source software for the Mac?

    I'm finding there's a is a severe lack of quality open source software for the Mac!

    That's because most open-source software is cross-platform.

    Softpedia is a great source for all kinds of Mac apps. Those where the license is "GPL" are open source.

    By the way....these are resources, not actual apps.

    It might be more helpful if you were to tell us what software you are looking for and we can offer a recommendation, for instance The Gimp as a Photoshop alternative, or Open Office/Neo Office as a MS Office alternative.

    You list the software, and we will give alternatives.
