iPad or iPad air? I don't think she does much on a tablet but I know she'll complain about the regular not being nice enoigjnor the weight.

On the other hand the air isnanfew hundred bucks more and I don't know the difference is worth it.

Ordered an Air 5 last week for mine. 3GB vs 8GB RAM was worth the extra for me; I expect it to be a good experience for at least twice as long as the iPad 9 and it’s less than 2x the price. It delivers faster than the iPad 9 in the UK too, plus she liked the Air 4 when she saw one.

If your mom would ever want a Pencil, then Pencil gen 2, which isn't supported by the base iPad, is far superior to Pencil gen 1.

Does your mom currently have an iPhone? I got my mom a regular iPad, mostly because it mirrored her iPhone 8+. My mom isn’t tech savvy at all and I didn’t want the headache of hearing her complain about having to learn Face ID and the small differences in the OS interface.

Lol, yep. In general, I’ll try to keep the devices similar.

i got my mom a 12.9” iPad Pro and she has been hooked ever since. with That being said, I’d probably opt for the larger version

My mother is a young 95 and has been using my iPad Air 2. She has macular degeneration so her eyesight is diminishing. I ordered a refurbished iPad Pro 11” for her with the hope the improved display will cause less strain on her vision.
