That's amazing! For a machine introduced almost ten years ago, and which wasn't a powerhouse even back then, it's very neat. I'm on Big Sur with mine but I'm considering OS upgrade since more and more software don't work so well with it - mainly Safari and Brave as it's a browsing/email machine.

I’m running Safari version 26 with my current version of SequoiaOS without any issue. Just keep in mind that booting up apps is not instant and has a slight delay and that delay is very short so since my MacBook is not my primary laptop, this very slight delay does not bother me. Key point being I’m able to run the current SequoiaOS and have updated OS and security updates then patch them using the current version of OCLP to keep everything running smoothly.

I really love the small footprint of my 12-inch MacBook and having Sequoia running effortless on it is amazing in itself:apple:

It is a huge pity indeed. When Apple finally got CPUs that where suitable for an ultra portable they don't make one. I miss the 11" Air, the new 13.6" feels more bulky than the older 13" Air, even though measurements say othwerwise.
The 12" is a much more complete package than the 13" ipad with keyboard.

If Apple made and sold a 12" MacBook using the M1 or M2 chip with 16GB - 18GB RAM and up to 1TB storage I would be buying one just for travel use . . . but realistically, we will never see this. I love using my 12" MacBook primarily for its very small and lightweight packaging and the "improved" butterfly keyboard actually does not bother me now that I am using my MacBook for most things. It just works.

Apple is probably releasing 12 inch Macbook with A or M chip as of now, we'll know soon. And probably it will much much faster than original Macbook and have 16GB of RAM
