best PC sub notebook to use with mac?

i'm looking into an asus PC 901, 1000 or another PC sub notebook to use in conjunction with my macs (not ready to invest in a MB Air) for basic WP and online use. recommendations? Also, what's the easiest way to navigate between the two machines -- I'm not PC savvy.
