Would it be possible for someone to give me a screenshot of all of pdf expert's freehand highlighter colours in use? And maybe a demo (with just one colour) of the available sizes? Sorry if this is too much to ask!

The blue highlighted text shows the different opacities - 75%, 50%, and 25%. The yellow highlights show the different sizes from 1pt to 18pt. Let me know if you need more screenshots. I love PDF Expert.

Would it be possible for you to do one with all the colours at 50% opacity? Just one size is fine - although preferably over text would be nice. Thank you!

Does this work? Left column is freehand (obviously) 50% opacity 8pt. Right column is the standard highlighting function.

PDF Reader AND Organizer

Hi,

I had a query that I just posted that is related to this one but different. Please take a look at that and respond:

Thanks for any and all help!

So do you guys have any recommendations on a good PDF annotation app (paid or free)? I know there's been some threads before but there's a few requirements I need the app to meet
-Freehand highlighting
-small file sizes (My iPad is only 16gb, and I don't want it to use up my memory - e.g. if I import a 70mb file and it takes up a few hundred mb with annotations)*
-notetaking would be a nice bonus

I've been looking at iAnnotate, Pdf Expert 5, Notability and Goodnotes. I'm currently using pdf-notes free, and I'd like to upgrade. (pdf-notes free uses up a few hundred mbs per pdf which is under 100mb).

I basically want to highlight textbooks that are a few hundred pages long and some other documents.

Does anyone have any experience with the apps I previously mentioned and/or any other apps? I'd be really interested in the sizes which it stores the files at (apparently notability has very large files?), as well as if there's any lag (I've head notability/goodnotes tend to lag with large pdf files?).

Oh and iCloud sync and Google Drive access would be nice too.

Thanks!

*Clarification: I don't mean exported file sizes - I mean the file size the pdf is stored at in the app - i.e. the amount of storage the app uses up in data. E.g. my pdfs are 200-300mb total, but using pdf-notes, which pre-opens every file and stores them as a .pdfnotes format, the application has used up 1.3gb in data (and if I pre-opened them in retina format, it takes up ~4.5gb). For reference, the actual application's size is only 48.1mb.

Edit: I think ? The correct term for the app using up a lot of memory is actually using up a lot of cache? I noticed another person who had the same issue with pdf notes referred to it as such.

Looking for a good PDF annotation app too

I'm looking for a good PDF annotation app too. I tried Adobe Reader (free) and Remarks by Readdle before. Both of them have their pros and cons. Maybe Readdle Remarks is better for me, but it still can't satisfy my demands. :(

+1 for Cabinet, I use it on a regular basis and it allows for a decent system of highlighting (pretty smart, stays close the the text) and commenting.

I use pdf expert, I use the built in highlighter which i can just use my finger to highlight and it will do it neatly instead of the freeform which is for writing mostly but you can highlight with it. You can tap a word and it will highlight it for you, very convenient for me!! you can also add in text by typing with a keyboard.
