I have since purchased a second one to hold the iPhone in landscape mode. Super secure.

I might have to get this. Overheard some people at a Best Buy yesterday talking about how overpriced this was for a little piece of plastic. :) It does solve a significant problem though - that being that most of these car holders are ridiculously ugly.

I like mine. It's a good piece of hardware.

That is not true. The thing is metal, stainless steel, with protective rubber. The smooth spring action of the clamp suggested that it's pretty well engineered. It's the most premium feeling phone mount I have seen.

Another vote here for the Kenu Airframe. I love mine. I know most people aren't keen on vent mounts, but i personally find this the perfect solution for me

I use the KENU as well, and I have to say it is the best mount I've used. It holds the phone pretty snug, with rubber mounts so it doesn't scratch your phone if it's without a case. And it's a rubber mount where it attaches onto the vent, and even there it's pretty firm, so there's no fear of it coming off suddenly in hard braking situations. The base also rotates for either vertical or horizontal use.
BTW, nice revive on an old thread.
