No. They. Are. Not.
It is NOT free. This is a common fallacy because it was first reported that way.

The link you provide is for registered owners who have already purchased the product and the serials are given there so that registered owners may reinstall CS2 without having to reactivate. Adobe has removed CS2 from the activation servers.

That said however, Adobe seems to be unconcerned about others downloading from that link.
Okay, then.

Sorry about that. Then I guess they're not.

*wink

That's kind of a distinction without a difference. That being said, I am using CS3 on a Powerbook G4 and it runs great. I know this thread started by saying that Aperture doesn't run well but I have Aperture 2 and it seems to run fine as well.

I agree. But I am not the one making the distinction. Adobe is.

"Effective December 13, Adobe disabled the activation server for CS2 products and Acrobat 7 because of a technical glitch. These products were released over 7 years ago and do not run on many modern operating systems. But to ensure that any customers activating those old versions can continue to use their software, we issued a serial number directly to those customers. While this might be interpreted as Adobe giving away software for free, we did it to help our customers."

I am merely providing true and accurate information to refute the common perception of the software being free. What anyone reading this chooses to do with that information is their own business. ;)
