Anyone who says Ginos East has the best pizza in Chicago has been brainwashed by the Food Network. The only way they would be the best is if every other pie joint in Chicago proper went out of business.

The Ralph Lauren store is amazing. You should eat at the restaurant there sometime. It's expensive, but well worth it. The Apple Store on Michigan is among the first and I love it.

I do miss shopping in the downtown area.... 🙁

OP so did you get anything sweet at the RL store?

+2. Lou Malnati's is the best deep dish (it used to be Gino's East on Superior, but not no more)

For thin crust… go to New York? Haha. There's a great place in the western suburbs (countryside) called Ledo's, which is fabulous if you like your pizza thin and greasy.

Don't bother with Giordano's. It sucks.

I grew up going to Ledo's all the time. It has gone downhill over the past 10 years ever since the owners had a fight. It's a good place to go and hang out, but the pizza is extremely watery and tastes like soap.

I don't get this. I can't get past that nasty, chunky sauce.

The best pizza is not downtown- go to the neighborhoods.

Calo is great at Clark and Balmoral.
Apart Pizza on Broadway
Carmen's on Sheridan Road
Piece on North Ave

All these places mop the floor with that crap we feed the tourists. 😉

Didn't Carmen's close?

If we're talking thin crust options, Spacca Napoli and Coalfire are both fantastic as well.

I vastly prefer thin crust, actually, but everyone who visits insists I take them for deep dish. Wish I had a car to get out to Burt's Place in Morton Grove...supposed to be the best deep dish around and I still haven't been.
