Where is the best place to buy either Windows XP or Vista? Seems to be a huge price difference between places like Best Buy or Circuit City and online retailers like buy.com, etc.

Any chance of getting XP used at a used software store?

Also, I just want to use it to run Flight Sim 2004 on a Macbook. Any issues with this?

    Thanks.

I'm in Canada and bought XP Pro OEM from Tigerdirect.ca for 150 bucks. I generally found it to be the cheapest option, and they sent it to me without having to buy any kind of hardware (which is strickly how they should actually be selling the OEM)

I don't know if you have Tigerdiect in the US, but if you do, check the price there. I'd think that buying online would be the cheapest way.

Thanks guys. I just bought some memory from newegg and could not be happier with their service. I ordered it on Friday and it was here Monday. Standard shipping. Pretty impressive.

Do you recommend XP Pro, XP Home, or Vista?

    Thanks again!

I would recommend XP Home, unless you are a business user with a large network or needs remote access then I would go with Pro.

Vista is another story. It's getting better (Ive used it since RC1), but it still has a way to go. If you want the best performance XP Home is the way to go.

Again personally I would not put Vista on until SP1 comes out for it.

If you go the Vista route, and you want to run it through Parallels or VMware, you have to get the Business or Ultimate version because Microsoft has limited virtualization to those two. So Home, Home Premium, etc. will not work that way (though they work fine in Boot Camp).

    Just a warning.

Hahahaha, I completely forgot about NewEgg in the states. Pretty much the one shop stop for everything down there.
