Title says it all. I am in Ohio looking for the best place to get a 2015 15" MBP at the lowest price.

I am looking to replace my 2009 15" MBP with a 2015 model but I am having a hard time paying $2500 undiscounted for a 3 year old machine. The 2009 model can barely load the apple webpage in safari without stuttering and locking up and that is with an SSD in it. I was hoping to score something over the holidays but the best deal was $1000 off the 2016 model but I simply cannot use the keyboard. I do a lot of typing and I borrowed a friends 2016 model for two days and the keyboard simply hurt my fingers otherwise I would buy a 2018 model (when it is released of course).

Try looking at B&H photo and the Apple refurbished site and also amazon, stay away from craigslist and ebay imo. The 2016 and 2017 mac book pro's is a liability for some users on this forum and good choice with 2015 ( I use one and its perfect). I am not sure why there isn't a noticeable discounted price, but keep looking.

Yeah, those prices on the 2016 models are very good. I have had to restrain myself from buying one of those from B&H on several occasions.

Disagree with the eBay opinion. I've bought and sold on eBay for years and never had a problem. Not one. As a matter of fact, I may list my 2015 MBP on eBay in a few weeks, and if I do, someone will score a sweet deal on a fantastic computer. If you shop smart and read feedback, you can't go wrong with eBay, imo.

I bought from eBay a MacBook Pro 15 2015 max out in pristine condition with a battery in excellent conditions, just 80 cycles, for $1400. With the money that I saved, I bought an iPhone X. I'm very happy with my decision.

I just took the time to read descriptions and buyers info from eBay and never had any problem.

"Best place to get a 2015 15" MBP?"

Apple still sells these as brand-new, newly-constructed units.
You have to "dig deeper" to find them at store.apple.com -- but they are there.

You can also find these at refurbme.com (be sure to specify that you wish to see ONLY Apple-refurbished units).

There are a few ebay resellers who sell Apple stuff with the factory warranty. Usually close-outs, etc. I bought my 2015 MBPro 13" that way. Try searching "ebay electronics valley store" (no connection other than being a satisfied customer).

It's shocking that the 2015 is now worth more than the 2016...

I got my 2016 on eBay just recently (late Dec 2017). $1,400 for a 2-year old 2.5/16/512/Radeon with 120 cycles on the battery and Apple Care warranty until late October 2018. In my opinion eBay is an okay place to buy if you keep one thing in mind: if something seems fishy it most likely is.

The main problem is that the longer you wait the harder it'll be to source a new(ish) 2015 MBP.

yeah it's tough.. I have a 2013 13" retina MBP and going between retina and nonretina hurts the eyes. I have even started considering getting a 15" Surface book at this point. The 2016/17 MBP keyboards are physically painful for me to use.
