Best place to purchase?

I'm sure this has been discussed but am unable to find a thread with the search function.

The closest Apple store is 150 miles away so that's not really an option.
I have in the past used the Mac catalogs such as mac mall or mac connection with sometimes good and not so good results. I could buy from the Apple online store but would have to pay sales tax as there are stores in Pa.

Just looking for opinions.

Are you looking for bto or a stock model. If a stock model, then Amazon is pretty good and often discounted somewhat.
