Currently, on my MBP,a I have a sparse disk image within which is stored the details of my bank a/c, credit cards, etc. Obviously I have the sparse disk encrypted.

I was just reading about the ability to securely store short notes in Keychain and I'm wondering if this might be better place to keep my a/c details..

any views of which is the most secure place ?? or alternative suggestions

To access the keychain, you need your user password. So, if you use an encrypted disk imgage, you'll actually need two passwords (one for your user account, one for the image) = an additional layer of security.

But as Buttercookie said, using strong passwords is most important.

my understanding is that although keychain has the user pw by default, this can be changed

thanks for the replies
