GameStop offers 30% extra trade-in credit on top of the base value. Use the store credit to buy Amazon gift cards.

I never use Amazon. :/ I prefer receiving cash or a check to put it towards to purchase of a new iPad.

Understood. But when GameStop offers $242 base store credit (I checked as of this morning), or $314.60 with 30% store credit, it is certainly an option worth pursuing.

I went with Gazelle because they give you cash and not some credit or points.

All those trade-in sites are such a rip-off... And I understand they have to make money too but its just not worth it.... I got $250 for a 16gb iPad Mini on Craigslist and that was just a few days before the announcement. My friend once sent in an iPhone in excellent condition... I mean this thing was flawless he always kept it in one of those ridiculous otter cases and a screen protector, yet they told him it was in poor condition after they received it and greatly reduced the amount they had promised him.

*Ahem* Until 11/03/2013, Gamestop is offering 50% extra store credit if you purchase a used item in the same transaction.

Edit: Looks like the 30% explicitly says tablets/smart phones, whereas the 50% deal does not. Previously, tablets and smart phones were just considered "systems," when I sold them to Gamestop. Also, the 50% extra deal started the day after iPad news conference and ends two days after release day....May be worth looking into.

Best place to trade in my iPad mini for cash?

Trade for cash? In my country, we call that "selling".

The "send it in and we'll pay you" places will never give you as much as you can get on your own. It's no mystery that Gazelle flips most of the stuff they buy directly onto ebay.

I sold my iPad Mini 64GB for $375 on Craigslist... I didn't get as much as I wanted but it wasn't going to get much better than that.

Dude that is an incredible sale if it was the Wi-Fi model, and still a solid sale if it was the LTE model. If you get anywhere above 55% of your initial cost, that is a solid deal.

I ran into this when I used the Best Buy Trade In program when you had to mail the item in and they didn't do trades in store. I'll never mail something in to be evaluated. Same situation with an old windows phone. I have, however, recently traded a 4s in at a physical BB and the girl evaluated it at Excellent Condition AND just traded in an old Nano and my iPad Mini at a Gamestop and got Excellent condition for both. I was prepared to argue for Excellent @ Gamestop if I didn't get it, but the guy was way cool.

Really? And it was the WiFi model! I was getting overs from $300 - $350. My target price was $375 (I had it listed as $420) and I haggled a little bit with the buyer and managed to get him up to $375 :). I also gave him a case, two screen protectors and the iPad was in mint condition though.

Incredible? Decent at best. I sold my 32GB LTE for the same price.

Seeing that you sold your 64gb wifi mini for $375 makes me glad I sold mine back in June for $450. I've been using the Nexus 7 in the meantime to tide me over for the iPad Air.

$450 is good, but you couldn't pay me $75 to use a Nexus for 4 months lol.

Your 32GB LTE model costs more than his 64GB Wi-Fi. You both sold for the same price. If his is decent at best, what does that make you? Ripped off?

Decent minus. Lol.

Fortunately, mine was supposed to be a white 16gb, but att ran out of those and sent me a black 32 for the price of the 16.

Avoid the middleman, sell it on craigslist, and get more money.

Apple products sell faster than any other brand on the secondhand market. Take advantage of that.

eBay was harsh on the iPad mini 64GB WiFi + LTE models (one white, one black). I barely received $500 for each with SmartCover and AppleCare+.

I just to thank those in this thread who recommended GameStop. I walked in with a 32GB WiFi iPad 3, and walked out with a new (used) PS3 game and $375 in Amazon gift cards.

Apple gets $419 for this model as a refurb, so that seems like a pretty good deal to me.

What ps3 game did you get? Did you have to get the game to get the $375?

I didn't realize GameStop had amazon gc as I never seen them.
