I have a 2018 MacBook Pro... what's the best I can buy for this setup?

Well, from what I’ve seen the Navi performs better in games, but if you can snatch a Vega 64 for cheap, why not.

Shouldn’t matter really. I have a Razer Core X, it’s one of the cheapest enclosures, supports virtually all GPUs and gets the job done. I use it with a Vega 56.

I have a vega fontier and had to get an upgraded power supply for the eGPU. I would defenilty wait for a lower Power AMD option like the 5700 XT. A lower watt GPU gives you a lot more eGPU case options.

Mantis Venus, comes with usb and Ethernet so one cable transfer laptop to desktop

I would advice agains this as these cases have been reported to have port issues when the GPU is actively used (the GPU is "stealing" all the bandwidth and USB/ethernet become unusable).

Mantis Venus is the most compatible I think. Never had issues with it connecting over TB3; worked every single time. Cannot say the same for my Aorus Gaming box or Razer core. I have had USB connection issues on every eGPU I've owned, though.

I have the Mantiz Venus with a Vega 56 (I found that card for cheap), works well with my 2018. The USBs on the front side are a bit flaky, but I always keep ethernet + keyboard + 2 drives plugged in the back ports and I never had any problem with those. Love how the design and finish of the thing match those of the MBP.

Watch out for the power supply rating if you decide to go for Vega 64, that thing is well-known for having pretty high power usage spikes.
