best practices with MBP battery

I will be getting a MBP soon. It will be my first Mac. What are the best practices to follow with the MBP battery?

Avoid unplugging and plugging constantly

I would avoid leaving it plugged in constantly, or if you must leave it plugged in, discharge it to around 50% or lower at least once a week. My first battery dies because I left it plugged in too much, and because it was made by Sony.
