Best program for "backing up" your DVDs?

Whats the best program for ripping DVDs? Mac the ripper I am told will rip it to that hard drive, but will not shrink it to 4.7 GB. Anything else out there that is solid and good quality?

or try install DVDshrink with crossover office, I am not sure if it will be able to run, but DVD shrink is the best DVD backup software I ever used, altho its a windows app, many ppl used it through Wine/crossover under linux/mac
